Welcome to Third Man Cricket

Welcome to Third Man Cricket! And thank you for taking the time to read this (and hopefully follow our Twitter account!)

Lockdown and 2020 has been a frustrating time for us all, but good things can come from bad times, and I hope that Third Man Cricket will become one of those.

Third Man Cricket aims to be a blog and Twitter hub that connects people with an interest in cricket through news, views, blog posts and more. All coming from me, a below-average club cricketer and fan. I was lost to cricket during my teenage years, but rediscovered my love 5 years ago and it is now a huge part of my life; from playing club cricket, to running a junior section and to of course watching as much professional cricket as I can.

I’ve decided to harness this relatively recent love into something creative and worthwhile...so here we are!

I have been massively inspired by two things: Podcasts and Social Media Accounts.

Podcasts such as those by Tailenders, The Cricket Badger, The Grade Cricketer, Barmy Army, Wisden, The Cricketer and more have kept me going through lockdown and inspired me to voice my opinion and connect with more cricketing fans! Whilst social media accounts from the likes of Cricket District, Crick Shouts, Sixes and Wickets, weCricket have peaked my interest and amused me through their many viral videos and graphics etc!

Sadly, I’m not as talented or confident to produce a podcast or video... and so I thought I’d go old school and try the written word! But a huge thank you to all of the above and more for inspiring me to do something different with my love for the game.

Now, I have no experience in writing about cricket, and the only experience I have of social media management is my club’s accounts... so this could be a bumpy ride! But please have a read and give us a follow, and we will always welcome any feedback.

Go Well!
